SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET 2020: Application, Dates, Eligibility, Syllabus

SCERT stands for State Council of Education Research & Training Center, Assam. It is the exam conducting body which conducts Entrance Exam for admission in D.El.Ed course. PET is Pre-Entrance Test; it is conducted for those students who wish to take admission to D.El.Ed. It is to take the teaching profession at an elementary level in the NCTE recognized Teachers Education Institute of the state for session 2020.
Date of Pre Entry Test (PET), 2020:  Last Week of September or 1st Week of Oct.

Educational Qualification:  For Lower Primary (LP) level: The applicant must have passed Higher Second, or its equivalent examination from recognized Boards / Councils with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in extra optional. (Fix candidates belonging b SC/ST category there will be relaxation d 5% of marks in aggregate) 

For Upper Primary (UP) level: The applicant must have passed BA/BSc. from a recognized University with at least 50% marks. (For candidates belonging to SC/ST category there will be a relaxation of 5% d marks In aggregate] 

Age: The applicant must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years as on 1st July 2020. There will be relaxation by 2 years for candidates belonging to SC & ST categories. 

Reservation: Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC/SC/ST/Person With Disability (PWD) will be as per existing Govt. norms. The detail is available in our official website

Application Fee: Rs 400.00 (Rupees three hundred fifty only) for all categories to be Paid online (Internet Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/Wallet).

Pre Entry Test (PET) & Its venue:
The venue for the Pre Entry Test (PET) will be DIET/HS School of a District. However, depending upon the number of candidates the Pre Entry Test may be held in nearby school/college, etc. The venue for the Pre Entry Test will be indicated in the Admit Card of the candidates.

For Section-I

General English: vocabulary, tenses, verbs, preposition, comprehension,voice-change, narration, adverbs, synonyms, antonyms.
General Knowledge: Current affairs, who is who, abbreviations, the constitution of India, history of Assam, Inventions and discoveries, Sports. Art and culture, Every day Science, World Organizations, Geography of India, Educational Commissions and Committees, New Educational Initiatives, Educational Organizations
Reasoning: Logical and analytical reasoning, pattern, etc.
Education: Teaching-learning, process, individual differences, learning Assessment/Evaluation, Role, functions, and quality of teacher, principles & maxims of teaching, Educational philosophy & laws, the purpose of Education, Role of other agencies in school management, Concept of TLM and its importance, Leadership quality of teachers.

 For Section-II

Mathematics: Numbers, Fractions, Percentage, Money, Geometry, Measurement, Data Handling, Square & Square Root.
Science & EVS: Natural & Social Environment, factors influencing the environment, Causes of environmental degradation, Bio-diversity, Environmental Issues, Environmental Protection, Chemical Reaction, Microorganism, Light & Reflections, Weather & Climate.
Social Science: Natural & Human Resources, Atmosphere & its layers, Freedom movement of India, Constitution of India, Democracy, Ancient Urban civilization, Earth & its Structure, Consumer protection, Transport & Communication, Agricultural & Industrial development, Contribution of medieval administrators on socio-economic development in Assam
Language: The objective of Language learning, Importance of language learning, Application of phrases & idioms, Skills of language, methods of language teaching, the difference between home language & mother tongue, suffix, prefix, gender, the verb number.
