Gauhati University LL.B Admission 2019– Gauhati University LLB Entrance 2019 is going to held on 4th and 5th July 2019 and online application will start from the month of June. Gauhati University offered two law courses these are LLB (3 years) and B.A. LL.B (5 years).

Law Courses of Gauhati University 2019:

  • 3 year LL.B  
  • 5-year Integrated LL.B

Seat/Intake for Law curses of GU:

3 Year LL.B- 120 seat

5 Year B.A. LL.B-  60 Seat

Eligibility of Entrance For Law Courses of Gauhati University:

For 3 year LL.B  Course: candidates in the Three-year Degree course (General/ Major) for First Degree in Professional Course in any Faulty of Gauhati University or any other University recognized by Gauhati University are admitted on the basis of the result of Admission Test cum Interview, taking into account the marks obtained in the Three Year Degree course (General/ Major). 

For 5-year LL.B Course: Candidates must pass H.S securing a minimum of 45% marks in the case of general candidates and a minimum of 40% marks in the case of S.C./ S.T/O.B.C.

Age Limit: 

For LLB Course: Maximum 30 years for General Category and 35 years for SC/ST/OBC

For B.A. LLB Course: Maximum 20 years for General Category and 22 for SC/ST/OBC

Application Fee: Rs. 600/- [ i.e. Rs.250/- (two hundred) as
application fee and Rs. 350/- (three hundred ) as Entrance Fee ]

Additional Prescribed Forms: Candidates seeking admission under any reservation/quota viz. Differently Abled (Disabled), Son/Daughter of permanent G.U. Employees in service, Son/Daughter of G.U. Ex. Employees, Son/Daughter of Ex-Defence Personnel, Fringe Village and Extra-curricular & Co-curricular Activities, must submit the respective additional prescribed form(s), obtainable from the Gauhati University Press (GUP) on payment of Rs. 50/-(Rupees fifty) only.

Entrance Examination Pattern:

There is negative marking @ 0 .5 mark for each wrong answer.
Duration- 2 hours
Total Marks- 100

Multiple Choice Questions: 100 (1 Mark x 100)

General Knowledge (1 mark x 20) 20 Marks
General English and Comprehension (1 mark x 10) 10 Marks
Elementary Mathematics (numerical ability)  (1 mark x 10) 10 Marks
Logical Reasoning and Aptitude (1 mark x 30) 30 Marks
English (1 mark x 30) 30 Marks


The General Knowledge component will cover the following fields:
1. Legal events and developments
2. Current events of Regional, National and International importance
3. General Science including basic Computer knowledge
4. History of India
5. Geography
6. Indian Polity, Sports and Economy

Selection Process: A Student has to obtain at least 40% marks out of total marks in the Entrance Examination to be eligible for admission. Amongst those candidates who have obtained at least 40% marks out of total marks in the Entrance Examination, the provisional selection list for admission will be prepared on merit basis as per the existing rules.
